History

HISTORY

The idea of establishing a union of academics and authors was first developed on 24 December 2010/ 18 Muharram 1432 at a meeting in Istanbul. At the consultation meeting held with the participation of many academisc in Yıldız Palace affiliated to the Directorate of National Palaces, the establishment of the Islamic Countries Academics and Authors Union was decided.

Due to the importance of such a union being of an international character, the application file submitted to the Governorship of Istanbul consisted of the documents in line with the provisions of the “Law No. 3335 on the Establishment of International Organizations”. After the Interior Ministry of Turkey collected the opinions and evaluations of the related governmental and international institutions such as the Ministry of National Education, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the General Secretariat of the Organization of the Islamic Conference and the Presidency of Religious affairs, AYBİR was established and granted the status of “international organization” with the decision of the Council of Ministers dated 22/08/2011.

AYBİR, an Istanbul-based association, has been continuing its activities for more than ten years to establish a scientific and intellectual network among academics and authors all over the world, especially in Islamic Countries, and to support the effort to revive Islamic civilization. As being an international organization AYBİR attaches great importance to cooperation with universities, scientific and intellectual organizations, and with the international institutions all over the world, especially Islamic Countries, for the construction of a better world for the humanity.
